FESTIVAL PROPS, SETS AND STAGES
With over 4 stages our venue will be transformed into a coastal shanty town that resembles building facades of centuries gone by. Keep your eye out for some real-life fishermen mending nets and fishmongers walking through the harbour with fresh cockles and mussels yelling alive, alive-o.
There will be a vast selection of free kids rides and entertainment such as train rides, inflatable zone, outdoor adventures, magicians, puppet shows, face painting, dancing, storytelling, arts and crafts, workshops and much, much more. Kids and parents will not be disappointed.
Local fishermen will be providing workshops and demos all weekend showing kids how to make colourful bracelets, net mending, talks, and how fish gets from the sea to your plate.
MARINE LITTER ART
The piece de resistance will be a giant octopus that we estimate to be over 7m high made entirely from plastics and marine waste. The art piece will be built from trash gathered on local beaches in Louth and Meath, old fishing nets from Clogherhead based trawlers and plastics collected from participating school’s green bins. This is a spectacle not to be missed.
THE SMUGGLERS REST MUSIC STAGE
Our second, outdoor stage will bring live music and acts over the duration of the festival. Some well-known local and upcoming acts to keep everyone entertained.
THE OLD HARBOUR VILLAGE
Keep your eye out for some real life fishermen mending nets and fishmongers walking through the harbour with fresh cockles and mussels yelling ALIVE, ALIVE-O.
